THE TRIP
The Netherlands Cup is played at FC Ommen's pitches near the small Hanseatic town of Ommen, in the northeast of the Netherlands, in May — around 70 teams, boys' age groups at Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15.
Every team stays inside the Slagharen theme park itself, around 20 km from the pitches, and gets free access to Slagharen's forty-plus attractions for the whole stay (Aqua Mexicana is the one exception). The opening ceremony is held in the stadium with national anthems, and Friday evening brings a pool party at Aqua Mexicana laid on exclusively for the teams in the tournament.
It closes with semi-finals and finals on the Saturday, and an awards ceremony with the cup presented that evening.

HOW THE FOOTBALL
WORKS
Thu 6 May (Ascension Day): arrival at Slagharen by midday, check-in and welcome at the meeting point; free time to experience the SLAGHAREN theme park; evening opening ceremony in the stadium with national anthems. Fri 7 May: matches by schedule from the morning; evening pool party in Aqua Mexicana water park, exclusive to the teams in the tournament. Sat 8 May: matches by schedule in the morning, semi-finals at midday, finals in the afternoon, awards ceremony with cup presentation in the evening. Sun 9 May: check-out and a final park visit in the morning; departure in the afternoon.
Age groups: 11 vs 11 (big field) — U15 juniors. 7 vs 7 (small field) — U11, U13 juniors.
Accommodation is limited at Slagharen — early booking recommended.
