THE WEEKEND
San Sebastián gives the first week of July over to football. The Donosti Cup reaches its 35th edition in 2027, and for a week around 910 teams from thirty countries play across sixty pitches spread through the city and the Basque coast around it — roughly sixteen thousand players, coaches and families.
It is the trip clubs remember rather than the tournament. Teams are guaranteed between four and eight matches, so nobody flies home after two games, and the opposition is genuinely international: your U14s might play a side from Japan on the Tuesday and one from Norway on the Thursday. The tournament runs its own inclusive division, the Donosti Authentics' Cup, for teams of players with intellectual disability.
Around the football there is a city built for it — La Concha beach, the old town, and evenings that stay light until eleven. We handle the entry, the beds and every transfer once you land, so the club turns up and plays.

THE FORMAT
HOW THE FOOTBALL
WORKS
The tournament runs nine boys' categories from B9 up to B18 and five girls' categories from G10 to G18, so a club can bring several sides and have them all playing. The younger age groups play eight-a-side; from B13 and G14 upward it is eleven-a-side on full pitches.
Every team is guaranteed between four and eight matches across the week, group games first and then the knockout rounds, which is why squads come from thirty countries rather than treating it as a weekend fixture. Categories are set by birth year rather than school year — worth checking against your squad before you enter.
