THE TRIP
Istria Cup is played in and around Medulin and Pula, on Croatia's Istrian peninsula, over the Easter weekend — around 100 teams, boys' age groups at Under 11, Under 13, Under 15, Under 17 and Under 19.
The opening ceremony is what sets this tournament apart: teams gather in the Old Town of Pula and parade into the ancient Roman Amphitheatre itself, for national anthems and the ceremony before the first matches. A torchlight parade with a campfire follows later in the week for every participant. Matches are played on grass and artificial turf pitches on the Croatian Adriatic coast.
Pula's Old Town and the Amphitheatre are on the doorstep, with a boat trip on the Adriatic among the excursions on offer during the week.

THE FORMAT
HOW THE FOOTBALL
WORKS
Thu 25 Mar (Holy Thursday): arrival in Medulin, check-in and welcome at the meeting point; evening tournament preview and briefing with coaches and assistants. Fri 26 Mar (Good Friday): teams meet in the Old Town of Pula, parade into the ancient Roman Amphitheatre for the opening ceremony and national anthems; matches by schedule from the afternoon. Optional excursion available. Sat 27 Mar: matches by schedule; optional excursion in the afternoon; evening torchlight parade and campfire, plus the "Resume" review evening with Croatian food and a presentation exchange with the town hall. Sun 28 Mar (Easter Sunday): quarter-finals and semi-finals in the morning (optional excursion available), finals in the afternoon, awards ceremony with cup presentation in the evening. Mon 29 Mar (Easter Monday): departure.
Age groups: 11 vs 11 (big field) — U13, U15, U17, U19 juniors. 7 vs 7 (small field) — U11 juniors.
